Greeting Card Association

Black Makers Pitch Program

In the midst of the overwhelming challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic came another painful reckoning for US society that laid bare issues of racism and inequality. Associations had the opportunity to act to genuinely welcome underrepresented members into their communities and to make an effort to uplift and empower them to make a difference. The Greeting Card Association (GCA) pulled together its community of greeting card makers, sales representatives, printers, paper suppliers, and retailers to do its own part for change. A small idea and the effort of a small association community was able to have a tangible impact for card makers of color, a reminder that no effort is too small, no matter your industry, niche, or resources.
