Sickle Cell Disease Initiative
The American Society of Hematology (ASH) earned a 2019 ASAE Power of Associations Summit Award for its Sickle Cell Disease initiative, a multi-faceted, patient-centric initiative to improve outcomes for individuals with the disease by bringing together stakeholders in the public and private sectors committed to significantly improving the state of SCD worldwide. ASH’s SCD initiative helps those with sickle cell disease, an inherited, lifelong blood disorder that affects nearly 100,000 individuals in the United States.
