The COVID-19 pandemic precipitated a global medical and public health emergency on a scale unseen since the 1918-1919 influenza pandemic. This demanded an unprecedented response from the entire healthcare system and the many scientific and medical associations that support it. AACC rose to the challenge of effectively scaling its mission of “better health through laboratory medicine” in a time of global crisis. From its first scientific publication in late January 2020, and continuing to this day, AACC has worked tirelessly – in collaboration with the field it represents, public health authorities, the medical community, and other associations – to deliver real-world outcomes necessary to clear this hurdle and maximize pandemic response.
